An abundance of fossils

We are having a great time here and there certainly is no shortage of great fossils! Here's a few snapshots from our collecting!

A lovely ammonite and some teeny tiny little bivalves!

Another bunch of bitty bivalves. This sample isn't wet... these pieces are fragile, we have to coat them with Paraloid (the shiny black stuff) which holds them together!

Some more reasonable sized bivalves!

Faint ribs on an ammonite

These ammonites just kept coming out of the woodwork!

An important index fossil. This ammonite lets us know what age the rocks are!

Our collosal crinoid stem, sadly we never found the calyx.

A nice place to do science on a hot day!

The tent that protected our gear from the rain and hail!
